The Gajanan Maharaj Temples were worked to respect Shri Sant Gajanan Maharaj, an Indian blessed man notable in Maharashtra, India. Maharaj lived during the late nineteenth century and mid twentieth century, consuming the vast majority of his time on earth in Shegaon, where he accomplished Samadhi on September 8, 1910. In spite of the fact that Shegaon has extraordinary centrality for Maharaj and his fans and has a superb sanctuary, each Maharashtrian city houses a Gajanan Maharaj sanctuary.
Hindus consider Gajanan Maharaj a holy person with phenomenal forces. His birthplaces are not known.
